Because randomness is the way to go! ;)

I don’t even know if I should answer today’s question since everyone who reads my blog already knows the answer.
But since some of you don’t know the question and because I’ve decided to do this challenge and well, I’d love to answer this question, here we go!

Day 6: Which house would you want to be in?

Don’t you mean: Which house are you in?

I’ll let my T-shirt do the talking here (if my Username hasn’t already answered for you) :

Yes, I’m a proud Ravenclaw, I was sorted that way.

What I really like about Ravenclaw (or all the houses really, with their own traits) is how it’s not about whether you’re intelligent or smart or wise, but about what you value the most.
So if you value knowledge and wisdom over everything else, then you have the qualities of a Ravenclaw.

You can notice that in the Ravenclaw part in the Sorting Hat song…

“Or yet in wise, old Ravenclaw,
If you’ve a ready mind,
Where those of wit and learning
Will always find their kind”

If you’ve a ready mind

If you’re actually willing to learn.

I have always been a bit greedy when it comes to knowledge.
Even from a young age, I read everything I could get my hands on, always wanted to gain more knowledge, and one of my legit concerns is that I’m going to die without learning half the things I wish to learn.

Reading Wikipedia articles and watching TED talks is my idea of fun.
I learn new languages because I like to.

I make lists of things I need to read more about and they include everything from Artificial Intelligence, Cryptology, Metaphysics to Art History and Fashion History.

Yeah, in case you didn’t notice, I’m a bit of a nerd.
The prospect of learning something new excites me!!

(That is not to say I don’t get bored sitting in lectures in college, but well that’s a whole different story)

I had once reblogged this post about Ravenclaw which very nicely sums up all the nuances of my house.

The other day I found this brilliant Tumblr post:

To end the post, I’d like to add something Luna once said (and reading it was one of my proudest moments as a Ravenclaw because ‘OMR! Such smarts!! Much wisdom!!’)…

“Which came first, the phoenix or the flame?”

“…I think the answer is that a circle has no beginning.”
“Well reasoned.”

  1. See, this is why I’m not a Ravenclaw. While I love learning new things, I’m just too lazy XD Your shirt is awesome by the way! 😀

  2. […] I’d have great housemates like Luna Lovegood! I agree with Ravenclawsam when she says here that being in Ravenclaw is ‘not about whether you’re intelligent or smart or wise, but […]

  3. I love that interpretation of Ravenclaw house! I don’t know why I never considered it, but you’re right—its about what you value the most, not what you’re naturally talented at that decides your House.

How else did Peter Pettigrew end up in Gryffindor???
